Dr. Paul Brandt is a 1991 graduate of Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He is the medical director of Westgate Pet & Bird Hospital and the past president of the Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association. His special clinical interests include general and orthopedic surgery, veterinary dentistry, diagnostic medicine and diseases of the skin and ears.

Dr. Brandt is married to Dr. Miller's daughter, Tiena, and they have three young children to keep them busy. They enjoy family activities like camping, exploring, fishing and children's birthday parties! They have two dogs and two rats to join in the household mayhem!


Dr. Rick Lusk is a 1991 graduate of Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to exotic animal medicine, his special interests include veterinary endocrinology and oncology. Dr. Lusk enjoys teaching and is regularly involved with student training at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. He was named by the Texas Veterinary Medical Association as Exotic Animal Practitioner of the Year in 2000.

Dr. Lusk and his wife, Laura, enjoy travel and fitness activities in their off time. They were very excited with the birth of their first child, Liam in November 2005. Liam hasn't been able to join in on the rollerblading just yet, but I'm sure that an active life is in his future.


Dr. Ginger Davis graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine after completing her undergraduate education at University of Texas at Austin. After graduating from veterinary school she completed a one year internship in avian and exotics at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. Her special interests are small animal internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, small animal dermatology and avian medicine.

Dr. Davis is a native Austinite and now lives west of Austin. She has two birds of her own, Molly, a teenaged umbrella cockatoo and Sammy, a cockatiel who is nearly 20 years old.



Dr. Dee Ann Mouser joined our practice as Associate Veterinarian in June 2014.  We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Mouser to our hospital team.  Dr. Mouser is a 2002 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine where she also received her undergraduate degree in psychology.  Originally from Houston, Texas Dr. Mouser has been practicing in Austin since graduating from veterinary school and has extensive experience in general small animal medicine and surgery, critical care and feline practice. 


Dr. Mouser is married to Dr. David Mouser who is a veterinarian as well.  Their hobbies include cooking, gardening and hiking.  They live with their five “fur” kids; three busy cats, Marley, Bart and Wallace and two patient dogs, Micah and Rusty.
