Dr. Krall believes that all animals, regardless of size, deserve an exemplary quality of life
Dr. Krall's primary interests include small mammal medicine, anesthesia and analgesia, animal behavior, and positive reinforcement training. She has a particular passion for working with animals who may exhibit more shy personalities.
Originally from Washington, DC, Dr. Krall completed her Bachelor’s at Georgetown University, after which she obtained her Master’s in Applied Animal Behavior and Animal Welfare at the University of Edinburgh, wherein she studied the diagnosis and treatment of PTSD in macaques. She went on to obtain her veterinary degree from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, and later completed a joint residency-PhD program in Laboratory Animal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University, during which her research focused predominantly on the refinement of rodent and rabbit care, and the replacement of animal models with human-based systems, specifically hiPSCs.
In her spare time, Dr. Krall enjoys traveling around the world to explore new cultures, and contrarily, relax at home with her two dogs, Carmine and Katia, and her fish tanks (specifically, of the Tanganikyan and Amazon River Basin biomes). She has also previously adopted many retired laboratory animals, specifically rats, mice, and guinea pigs.
