Dr. Sikand is very passionate about providing quality medicine to all species.
She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA). Dr. Sikand is Fear Free certified for small animal and avian. Her veterinary interests include exotic companion animal medicine, behavior, internal medicine, clinical pathology, and nutrition.
Dr. Sikand is from Libertyville, Illinois. She attended the University of Rochester where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Clinical Psychology in 2021. During her time in college, Dr. Sikand focused on animal behavior and facilitated research projects studying a variety of species ranging from marmosets to zebrafish.
Dr. Sikand then attended Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May 2025. Throughout her time in veterinary school, Dr. Sikand developed a strong passion for exotic animal medicine. She worked as a student technician at the Schubot Center for Avian Health, participated in South African species conservation, and arranged many student educational opportunities with the Zoo, Exotics, and Wildlife organization. During her clinical year, Dr. Sikand spent time at multiple exotic animal specialty hospitals including Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital and Gulf Coast’s Avian & Exotics department. Dr. Sikand also spent a month at University of Florida’s Zoological Medicine service.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Sikand enjoys traveling, reading, being in nature, and spending time with her two dogs - Dove and Lola.
